And the color aesthetic is influenced by the art deco movement paintor Tamara Depinca and the her wearing a black suit and sitting on a couch with a cigarette and a wavy hair bob look was inspired by the 1920 - 1940s actress Marlene Dietrich. Hey guys- thanks for such a thoughtful reaction!!! To say this video must have been both influencial and powerful 40 years ago is such an understatement. I was 21 when this came out and so many gay people thought they had so few options that you either stayed closeted, moved somewhere else if you could afford to…..or killed yourself. I know that’s super heavy but that’s how it was and to this day really hits a nerve. This song was sooooo haunting. I still seem to tear up when I hear it. ( and I grew up in a very loving, supportive family who still had trouble w me being gay)For those of us who survived this as well as AIDS, we are truly grateful….and proud! ……I guess I’m now an “old” gay man and I live in Palm Springs and love it! And I’m so happy that young people who are now trying to figure themselves out have a much better…. But not perfect… environment to exist in.

His real name is Sean Sherrard... so Johnny Logan is a stage name... shock, horror. At this point, he was Australian... his Dad was an Irish tenor who emigrated to Australia. They came back... and he hadn't gotten his Irish papers ... so at this point he was "officially" still an Aussie.

Like you guys said, the video is a great visualiser for a club, but beyond that it’s just too chaotic to keep up with. It’s exhausting. I see many fans in the comments giving explanations to help making some sense, but no words will (or should!) help bringing any order or storyline for this video. It should be something that would have come more organically. I honestly wish it could have been different, with a clearer story and less stressful to watch, so all publics could enjoy replaying it obsessively. Only her fans will do it, while it could have been a bit of a better entrance point for the outsiders. I wonder what would it have been if she had worked with different producers for this. And last but not least, I love you Anitta. The sound aesthetic in this album is wild, and I hope it can infect as many ears as possible in this industry.
